Ort Cook was born in this county Aug. 8, 1847, and is a son of the Rev. Elias arid Sophia (Eberhart) Cook. He
was reared on a farm, and educated in the South Bend College. His father came to this county in the early part
of 1847, and was a minister of the M. E. Church. Mr. Cook was married Oct. 5, 1874, to Miss Arvilla Rupel, daughter
of John Wesley and Elzada Rupel. Her father was a native of Ohio, and her mother of Indiana. Two children were
born to this union, one living, viz.: Adolphus and Tutt. Mr. C.'s grandfather Cook was a soldier in the Revolution.
