HORACE W. TUCKER, son of George W. and Sarah M. (Huntsman) Tucker, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, July 5, 1850.
His father was a native of Massachusetts and his mother of Ohio. The subject of this sketch wads reared and educated
in Cincinnati. When he was nineteen years of age, he moved to Miami County, Ind., where he engaged in farming for
eighteen months. He then spent several months in Sangamon County, on a farm, after which he returned to Miami County,
and later he came to Howard, where he purchased a farm of 117 acres. Here he farmed for eight years, and then purchased
the place on which he now lives, thirty two and a half acres, in the suburbs of New London, making in all 149;
acres of land, all well improved. He was married in Marion County, Ind., April 2, 1873, to Miss Sarah M. Carr.
She was born in Marion County March 23, 1853. By this union they have two children - Lena B. and Carry A. Mr. Tucker
is a Republican in politics, and he and his wife are members of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
