Thomas A. Williams, the principal dairyman of La Salle, was born in Devonshire, England, in June, 1849, the eldest son living of Thomas and Hephzibah (Hayman) Williams, residents of La Salle. His parents came to the United States in 1874 and located in La Salle where his father had charge of the Baptist church about two years. He then went to Rock Island, and from there to Deer Park, La Salle County, he having retired from the ministry till he had recovered his health which has been failing. Thomas A. Williams engaged in his present business in 1875 in partnership with A. E. Gunn, but since 1871 he has been running the dairy alone. His dairy farm consists of 165 acres, and he milks on an average thirty-four cows, dispb sing of his milk in La Salle. He was married in 1879 to the youngest daughter of Aaron Gunn. Mr. and Mrs. Williams are members of the First Baptist Church of La Salle. of which Mr. Williams is Superintendent of the Sabbath school. They are the parents of two son - Roy A. and Harry L.
