Alfred S. Pendersen, of the firm of Pendersen & Klove, dealers in clothing and men’s furnishings, at Leland,
was born in Chicago, Dec. 27, 1859, where he lived till he was twelve years old. In 1871 he came to Leland where
he has since lived, with the exception of two years spent in a dry goods store in Chicago. He had but small means
in 1878 when he commenced business, but is now one of the well-to-do merchants of the place. He carries a full
line of everything pertaining to his business, and is carrying on a good trade, which he has gained by his strict
attention to business and gentlemanly deportment. He also owns and runs a grocery and provision store at Leland.
His father, who was a native of Norway, died in 1868. His widow makes her home with our subject, at Leland.
