John Freeman, deceased, was born in Mecklenberg, Germany, Oct. 24, 1833. In 1856 he immigrated to this country,
and for a few years worked as a farm laborer. In 1860 he was married to Miss Margaret Greener, a daughter of George
Mariat Greener, who came to this county in 1859. They are the parents of five children, three of whom are living
- Mary, wife of Rev. Otto Brozie, of Dixon, Lee Co., Ill.; John Earpner, of Livingston County, Ill., and John.
Mr. Freeman was a member of the Evangelical church for many years. He was a true Christian, and was respected by
all who knew him. He had 200 acres at the time of his death, besides $75 and other personal property.
