WILLARD C. SCHOONHOVEN, P. O. Elgin. was born in Hanover Township in 1859, son of James and Lydia J. Sehoonhoven. He was married, in 1878, to Miss Ada M. Smith, daughter of John and Caroline Smith, and they have had three children, one now living - Etta M., born in 1881; Pearl V. died in 1880, and Leroy J. in 1883. Mr. Schoonhoven followed farming until 1882, when he moved to Elgin, since which time he has bean engaged in farming. He owns a good residence.
