PATRICK O'KANE, farmer, P. O. Palos, was born in Ireland intStz, son of Patrick and Mary O'Kane. He spent one year each in Detroit and Grand Rapids, Mich, In 1839 he came to Chicago, and after remaining there seven years located upon his present farm in the town of Palos and engaged in general farming and stock raising; his farm contains 266 acres. He was married in 1836, to Miss Judeth O'Kane, daughter of Patrick and Norah O'Kane. They have five children, two now living - Timothy M. and John T. They are members of the Catholic Church. Mr. O'Kane was a memher of the Common Council of Chicago in 1845, and Supervisor of Palos Township for five years. He has been Collector three years, Town Clerk one year, and a member of the school hoard for several years. His son Timothy M. served three years in the late war.
