A. W. LUND, dealer in drugs, paints, etc., came to Chicago in 1852 and clerked in a drug store, being general chore boy for some time, after which he worked for Brown & Wilder, in the crockery trade three years. He then went to Europe and spent a few months; then returned to Chicago and clerked in the crockery trade for Comly & Byrn seven years. He was a conductor on the street cars from 1862 to 1866. He then went late the grocery business. From October, 1867, until some time in 1870 he followed the latter business at Calumet River. He then sold out, came to Dolton and engaged in the grocery trade until, in 1882, he began the drag business, He was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, November 8, 1831. Mr. Lund was married in Chicago in 1856 to Catharine Mary Johnson. a native of Sweden. They have five children Albert E., Thora A. C., Frank C., Ida F. and Jennie E.
