KUH, DR. EDWIN J. - Born in New York city, June 20, 1858. Son of Isaac and Mathilde Kuh. Parents German, but they came to America when they were each about 18 years of age. Dr. Kuh was educated abroad from 1871 to 1882, in which year he came to Chicago. He received five years study in classics and took a five years' course in medicine, and is a graduate of Heidelberg University. His earliest ambition had been to study medicine, and in that profession he has achieved considerable distinction in the course of his practice in this city. He at one time occupied the position of surgeon at Michael Reese Hospital. In religious matters he is a member of the Society for Ethical Culture, and in politics is independent He is a member of the Chicago Medical Society, of the American Medical Association, Chicago Medico Legal Society, Practitioners' Club and examiner for the New York Life Insurance Co. He has paid considerable attention in his spare time to literature, and is the author of numerous articles which have been published in medical journals. Dr. Kuh was married to Miss Jennie Cahn, and has two children, Dorothy and Edwin, aged, respectively, 6 and 4 years.
