PATRICK GOODWIN, farmer, P. O. Rogers Park. was born in the county of Derry, Ireland. in May, 1822. His boyhood
was mostly spent in England driving cattle and farming. In 1846 he came to the United States, and first engaged
in farming in New York State for four years. He then came to Chicago, and five months afterward settled upon his
present farm, where he has since resided. He was married to Miss Frances M. Dart, of New York State, October 8,
1849. Her parents settled in Evanston Township in 1849, her mother dying in 1852. her father in April, 1864. They
have three children - James H., Harriet E. (now Mrs. Daniel Ward, of Denver) and Francis M.
