DUDLEY, E. C. - Born at Westfield, Mass., May 29, 1850. His parents were descended from English stock. His father
was John H. Dudley and his mother Narana P. Mason. His direct ancestor, William Dudley, came to America in 1638,
landing at Boston, but later settling at Guilford, Conn. William Dudley, of Guilford, was a brother of Joseph Dudley,
governor of Massachusetts in the old colonial days. Ancestors on both father's and mother's side fought in the
Revolutionary war. Subject of sketch was educated at Dartmouth, where in 1873 he received the degree of A. B.,
and at Long Island College Hospital, from which institution he graduated in 1875. That same year he came to Chicago,
and since then has been a practicing physician in this city, He has held various hospital appointments, and is
a member of various national and local medical societies. In the line of literature, he has contributed articles
on medical subjects to different journals, Dr. Dudley was married June 29, 1882, to Miss Anna E. Titcomb, of Chicago.
He has a family of five children - Katharine, Dorothy, Helen, Prescott and Caroline.
