WILLIAM DRAPER. farmer. P. O. River Park, was born in England in 1808, son of .lobn and Elizabeth Draper. lie
Came to Cook County in 1837 and located in Leyden Township, where lie now resides. his family own about 500 acres
and are engaged in general firming. Mr. Draper was married in 1840 to Miss Mary Ann, daughter of John and Ann Ludby.
They have six children— John, Betsey A., Thomas, Hiram, Rufus and Jane. He has been Supervisor. Town Clerk, Assessor,
and Justice of the Peace. Mrs. Draper's parents came to Chicago in 1883. where they resided until her father’s
death occurred, in 1871, at the age of seventy nine. Her mother died in 1874, at the age of seventy nine. Mr. Ludby
bought the farm now owned by Cook County, at the land sale in Chicago, his being the first entry made at the land
