CHRISTIAN BUSSE, farmer, was born in Hanover, Germany, in 1823, son of Fredrick and Frederika Busse. He came
to Cook County, Ill., in 1848, locating on the farm where he now resides, on Section 14. Township 41. Range 11.
consisting of 253 acres. He was married in 1848 to Miss Frederika Henjes. They have had six children, five are
now living - Fredrick. Louisa. Hannah, Henry and Frederika. The father of the subject of tlus sketch died in 1878,
at the age of seventy eight. He had forty five grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, He is a member of
the Lutheran Church. Mr. Busse was elected Supervisor of Cook County, 1867, and held the position for six years.
In 1873 he was elected one of the County Commissioners of Cook County. He is a member of the State Board of Equalization;
he was elected in 1880. Be was Census Enumerator for his township in 1880, and has held various town offices.
