BROWN, JAMES N.- Born in Cooper county, Mo., in 1854; lived in Jacksonville, Ills., from 1860 to 1880; was city
attorney of Jacksonville in 1875, and state's attorney of Morgan county 1876 to 1880. From 1888 to 1892 was general
attorney for the Southern Loan and Trust Company of Alabama; came to Chicago March, 1892; has been connected with
many important civil and criminal law cases; at present a practicing attorney, associated with Gen. George Hunt,
and attorney for the M. K. & T, railroad and trial attorney for the Chicago & Alton railroad; a man of
prominence in his profession and of high social standing in Chicago.
