THOMAS BORROWS, farmer and stock raiser. P. O. Bloom, in the spring of 1854 bought the east half of the northwest quarter and the northeast qoarter of the southwest quarter of Section 10, being 120 aores of prairie and woodland, on which he settled, and has since followed agricultural pursuits. He was born in Lincolnshire England. January 24, 1819, and lived in various places in his native county until 1850, when he came to Chicago. Soon afterward he removed to Lake County, Ill., and farmed a year, then returned to Chicago, and went into the employ of the Galena Railroad, afterward being employed in the milk trade for two years. He hauled the first ties for the Rock Island Railroad into Chicago. In 1854. he married Mrs. Mary A. Black, of Lincolnshire. England. They are members of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
