Allison; father, American; mother, Scotch; educated in the University of Illinois, and at Hanover, Ind.; occupied
chair of natural science at Greensburg, lad., and afterwards became principal of school; studied law under the
late Leonard Swett, for many years partner of Abraham Lincoln; is a practicing lawyer, and occupies a prominent
position at the Chicago bar. In politics is independent.
