ABBOTT, NATHAN. - Born in Maine, in 1854, and graduated at Phillips' Exeter Academy, Andover, Mass., in 1873.
A year later he entered Yale College, graduating in 1877 with the degree of bachelor of science. He took a full
course in the Boston University Law School, received from that institution the degree of bachelor of law, and began
practice in the city of Boston. He continued his practice until he was called to the Michigan Law School, and took
up in part the work left by Dr. Rogers when he accepted the presidency of the Northwestern University. He soon
followed Dr. Rogers, however, and is now professor of law at the Northwestern University, and devotes himself exclusively
to the work of the school. The subjects he gives instruction in more particularly are wills, administration of
estates, domestic relations, elementary law, partnership, bills and notes. Since his connection with the university
at Evanston, Professor Abbott has been very successful in his work, and is considered a great acquisition to the
faculty.
