Bauer, Iowa
Marion County, IA

BAUER
Bauer is a little hamlet in the western part of Dallas Township, about twenty miles southwest of Knoxville, and was named for one of the early settlers in that locality. No official plat of the place was ever filed in the recorder's office. It is located in the northwest corner of section 20, township 74, range 21, where St. Joseph's Catholic Church was established in 1874, and the village grew up about the church. Lacona, Warren County, is the nearest railroad station and the postoffice from which the people of Bauer receive mail by rural free delivery.
