CLAUS F. SIEBE.
Claus F. Siebe, of the mercantile firm of Peter Siebe & Company, at Cordelia, is conducting a general merchandise
business there in association with his brother, Peter Siebe, succeeding their father, the senior Peter Siebe, who
is the founder of the business and one of the pioneers of the Cordelia settlement. Claus F. Siebe was born in Cordelia,
June 7, 1880, and has always lived there. His parents, Peter and Catherine Siebe, are natives of Germany, the former
born in Hanover, October 4, 1845, and the latter in Holstein, April 19, 1846. Following his arrival in Solano county
Peter Siebe became interested in local development and was for years one of the leading merchants in Cordelia.
A stanch republican, he ever took an active and influential part in local politics, was for years a member of the
republican central committee and for eight years rendered public service as a supervisor.
Claus F. Siebe was graduated from the Green Valley school and from the Armijo high school and then became connected
with his father's store at Cordelia. When their father retired from active business pursuits on January 1, 1920,
he and his brother Peter took over the store and have since been conducting the business. They have an amply stocked
and admirably appointed establishment, which has for years been a popular trading place, being thoroughly dependable
and reliable. Mr. Siebe is a republican and is a member of the county republican central committee. He is a member
of Suisun Lodge No. 78, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and of Suisun Lodge No. 111, Knights of Pythias. His
many years of connection with the commercial life of the community in which his interests ever have centered has
given him a wide acquaintance throughout Solano county.
