DURWARD B. PARK, M. D.
Dr. Durward B. Park, a veteran of the World war with an officer's commission and an overseas record and one of the well known of the younger members of the medical profession at Vallejo, was born at Randolph, Nebraska, March 19, 1889, and was graduated from the medical college of the University of Nebraska in 1916. Upon receiving his diploma Dr. Park was appointed an interne surgeon in the Clarkson Hospital at Omaha and was there when in the next year this country took a hand in the World war and called on its young men to get ready to go to war. He enlisted his services in behalf of the Medical Corps of the army and in due time received a commission as captain and was sent overseas with Base Hospital 49 and located at Alleray, France. After the armistice he was assigned to the chief surgeon's office as an inspector of hospitals, with headquarters at Bordeaux. At the close of the war and following his return to the States he was for awhile stationed in camp at Cheyenne, Wyoming, and it was there that he received his honorable discharge.

Upon the completion of his military service Dr. Park opened an office for the practice of medicine at Rock Springs, Wyoming, and presently returned to Europe for a post graduate course in medicine and surgery in the University of Vienna (Austria), graduating from that institution in 1924. On January 20, 1925, he became established in practice at Vallejo and is now making his home here, with offices at the corner of Georgia and Margin streets.

In Dr. Park's family there remains one son, James Park, born in 1914. Dr. Park is a member of the Solano County Medical Society, of the California State Medical Association and of the American Medical Association. He is a Mason, having joined that ancient order in Nebraska, and a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also is a member of the Woodmen of the World, affiliated with the local camp of that order at Vallejo, the Kiwanis Cub, the Vallejo Chamber of Commerce and the medical fraternity, Phi Rho Sigma.
