ELUEZIO MINI.
Eluezio Mini, a veteran of the American constabulary service in the Philippines, is one of the leading dairymen of Solano county, managing in association with his brothers the great Mini estate at Three Mile House on the Napa road. He was born on that place February 10, 1881, and is a son of Lorenzo and Cecelia (Caccia) Mini, both now deceased, the death of the latter having occurred there December 11, 1908. The late Lorenzo Mini was one of the leading vintners in California and also developed the great Mini dairy ranch at Three Mile House. He came to California in 1869, his initial destination being Petaluma, and he was afterward for a while employed on the Jones ranch in Green valley. He then became foreman and manager of the winery of his uncle at Napa, in which concern he also became a stockholder, and he there laid the foundation of technical experience which in time brought him recognition as one of the foremost wine men of the state. In 1876 he opened an establishment of his own near Three Mile House, and he was there for years afterward engaged in the manufacture of wine, his products attaining world wide celebrity, and at the great world exposition at Paris in 1889 he was awarded a gold medal for the excellence of his wine. In association with his brother, D. Mini, he also took a prominent part in the development of the dairy industry in Solano county, carrying on operations along this line on the Three Mile House ranch for thirty years and operating under the firm name of D. & L. Mini. Lorenzo Mini died at the home place, February 23, 1918, and he is well remembered here, for he aided materially in the development of the resources of this region. He is survived by five children, a daughter, Miss Virginia Mini; and four sons, all of the latter being associated in the administration and management of the estate left by their father, which comprises a tract of fifteen hundred acres.

Eluezio Mini was reared on the home ranch and was graduated from the Vallejo high school in 1899, subsequently entering the University of California, from which institution he was graduated (LL. B.) in 1903. It was at that time that Philippine service was attracting the attention of many young men in the United States, and Mr. Mini entered the constabulary department on the islands and thus served until 1916, when he became assistant manager of the affairs of the Shanghai Life Insurance Company in the Philippines, meanwhile having married and established his home there. Some time later, owing to the failing state of his wife's health, he secured an indeterminate vacation and returned to California, and he has since been engaged with his brothers in operating and developing the home ranch.

Eluezio Mini united in marriage to Miss Mary Todd Haile, who was born in San Antonio, Texas, and they have two children, Mary Sylvan and James Haile. Mr. Mini is a member of the Senior and Junior Honor Society of the University of California and his interest in the affairs of his alma mater has never waned. For three years (1901-3), while in attendance at the university, he was a member of the football team. During his residence in the Philippines he became a member of the Rotary Club of Manila, and he is a member of the Masonic fraternity and the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, while in politics he is a republican.
