D. MINI.
Among the pioneers of this section of California who did so much to develop the great dairy industry here, there were many of Swiss nativity who brought with them a familiarity with dairying methods as practiced for generations in their native land, helping to bring to its present high standard an industry which ranks as one of the most important on the coast. Among these Swiss settlers there were few in this section who did more in this behalf than did the late D. Mini, a substantial dairyman and landowner who died in the spring of 1921 and whose widow and sons continue to operate the fine place he established on the Napa road near Vallejo.

Mr. Mini was born in Switzerland, February 22, 1852, and was there reared. He grew up familiar with dairying processes and remained at home until he was twenty years of age when, in 1872, he came to California and was employed as a laborer on a dairy farm in Napa county. About three years later he rented a tract of land and began operations on his own account, gradually developing a good business. After his marriage in 1896 he established his home on the place on which his widow and children are now living, and there he spent the remainder of his life, successfully engaged in dairying and general farming, his death occurring April 3, 1921, when past sixty nine years of age. The Mini ranch is a well improved place of three hundred and thirty five acres, and it is being operated in accordance with modern methods of dairying and farming.

Mrs. Mini also is a native of the republic of Switzerland, and her maiden name was Rose Bacciarini. She was married in San Francisco in 1896 and has been a resident of the Vallejo neighborhood since then, a period of thirty years. D. Mini was a member of the Masonic fraternity and is buried in the Masonic cemetery at Vallejo. He was a republican, as are his widow and children, and had ever aided in promoting all measures designed to advance the common welfare of the community in whose development he took so deep an interest. Mrs Mini has four sons, Romeo, Rinald, William and Dillon; one daughter, Miss Lena Mini; and one grandchild. Romeo and Rinald Mini rendered service in the army during the time of this country's participation in the World war.
