EUGENE F. CLAUS.
Elsewhere in this work, in connection with a biographical sketch relating to Louis J. Claus, senior member of the
firm of Claus Bros., proprietors of a well established and flourishing sheet metal working plant at Vallejo, reference
is made to the Claus family in Vallejo and to the success which has met the efforts of the Claus brothers in establishing
at Vallejo a sheet metal works that is able to take care of any detail of construction along that line that may
come up in the building trades in this section.
Eugene F. Claus, the junior member of this firm of Claus Bros., sheet metal workers, was born at Vallejo on January
31, 1902, and is a son of August and Mary L. (Gannon) Claus, the latter of whom also was born in Vallejo. August
Claus, who, as is set out elsewhere, is a native of the kingdom of Belgium, has for years been connected with the
operations of the navy yard here. He has been a resident of Vallejo since he was eleven years of age.
Reared at Vallejo, Eugene F. Claus finished his schooling in the local high school and then took up his life work
as a sheet metal worker, learning the trade thoroughly. In 1921 he became associated with his brother, Louis J.
Claus, in business, the brothers establishing the sheet metal works which they now are operating on Sonoma street,
and he since has been thus engaged, one of the progressive and enterprising young business men of the city.
In 1922, at Vallejo, Eugene F. Claus was united in marriage to Miss Bernice Stringer, who was born in Utah, daughter
of T. J. Stringer, and they have a pleasant home at Vallejo. Mr. and Mrs. Claus are republicans and take a proper
interest in the general civic affairs of the community in which they live.
