WARNER S CHADBOURNE.
Warner S. Chadbourne has always resided in Solano county and during practically all of his active years has been closely identified with the fruit raising interests of the locality, now acting as district manager for the Earl Fruit Company for Napa and Solano counties. He is a native of the Suisun valley, born on the old Chadbourne homestead on the 18th of October, 1894, and is a son of Grant and Edith (Covell) Chadbourne. The father, who also was born here, was long engaged in farming and fruit raising and became a successful and prominent rancher of this locality. He served two terms as a member of the county board of supervisors and in many ways showed a deep and intelligent interest in the general progress and improvement of the community. His death occurred in 1911. He was the scion of old and respected pioneer stock of the Suisun valley. The mother, who was born and reared in Ithaca, New York, was descended from old colonial stock, her ancestors having come to this country prior to the war of the Revolution. She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and embodies in her makeup the qualities inherited from her sturdy and patriotic forebears.

Warner S. Chadbourne received his elementary education in the public schools of his home neighborhood and in a preparatory school and then entered the University of California, from which he was graduated in 1917, with the degree of Bachelor of Science. From his boyhood he had been familiar with the fruit business, having been reared on a fruit farm; therefore it was not strange that on completing his studies he should seek employment along that line. His first position was as district manager at Napa for the California Packing Corporation, with which he remained until 1923, when he became identified with the Earl Fruit Company, being made manager for the Napa district. So capably did he handle the affairs of the company that in 1925 he was promoted to the position of district manager of Napa and Solano counties, in which capacity he has charge of the packing and shipping of an enormous amount of fruit. His discharge of his duties has been eminently satisfactory to the company which he represents and his relations with the fruit raisers of the district have been pleasant and agreeable. He is an indefatigable worker, performing his tasks quickly and well, and he enjoys an excellent reputation throughout this locality.

Mr. Chadbourne was married to Miss Louise Kaelber, who was born and reared in San Francisco. Politically Mr. Chadbourne is a stanch supporter of the republican party and takes a good citizen's interest in all public affairs affecting the welfare of his community. Fraternally he is a member of the Knights of Pythias and the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks. During the World war Mr. Chadbourne enlisted for service and was in training in camps in Texas but was not sent overseas. He is a great lover of outdoor life, being especially fond of hunting and fishing.
