HANS ADLER.
Though of European birth, Hans Adler, of the Solano Meat Company of Vallejo, has been a resident of California for over twenty five years. He was born in Germany, December 18, 1879, and is a son of Wolfgang and Barbara Adler, also natives of that country, where both died. When he was fourteen years of age he was apprenticed to the butcher's trade and was well trained in the details of that work. In 1900, upon attaining his majority, he came to California and worked at his trade in San Francisco. Two years later he went to Santa Rosa and was there employed along the same line until January, 1906, when he embarked in business on his own account, opening a meat market at Napa. For fourteen years Mr. Adler continued in business in Napa, and he then closed out his affairs there and moved to Cordelia, Solano county, and opened a meat market. He remained there until April, 1924, when he sold his establishment and became associated with Gunther Brothers in the general meat business at Vallejo, where he has since resided, the business in which he is engaged being carried on under the name of the Solana Meat Company. This concern is well equipped for the conduct of the business and has a modern slaughter house. It has an extensive wholesale trade and the products of its abattoir are widely distributed throughout this section. Mr. Adler has a proprietary interest in the plant and is an active factor in extending the scope of the business. The Solano Meat Company has its own refrigerating plant and all its products are government inspected, operations being conducted with the strictest regard for sanitary regulations.

On September 10, 1904, Hans Adler was united in marriage to Miss Bettie Rohleder, and they have four children: Hans Joseph, Bertha, Henry Schott and Margaret, the first named of whom is now a valued assistant to his father. Mr. Adler is a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, having become connected with that organization during the time of his residence in Napa. He is a republican in politics and since moving to Vallejo has taken an active interest in the general affairs of that city.
