Having decided upon the law as his life's work, he began his professional studies at the same university, and in 1923 was given his degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence. He was admitted to the California state bar during the same year, and immediately started in general practice in San Francisco, where he has met with pronounced success. On November 5, 1929, Mr. Peyser was elected as a supervisor of San Francisco city and county on the republican ticket, and took office January 6, 1930, for a four year term.

On June 17, 1928, Mr. Peyser was united in marriage to Miss Marguerite Kutner, a native of San Francisco, and a daughter of Louis and Bertha Kutner. They reside at 2001 California street in this city.
