Dr. Robert Grosso, prominent Italian citizen of San Francisco, and a leading member of the dental profession
of this city, was born in Turin, Italy, December 6, 1892, and is a son of A. G. and Maria Teresa (Baravalle) Grosso,
who are likewise residents of San Francisco, where the father is engaged as a chemist.
Dr. Grosso received his early education in the public schools of his native country. He arrived with his parents
in San Francisco on January 15, 1912, and subsequently entered the College of Physicians and Surgeons, from which
he received the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1918. The same year he established himself in the practice
of his profession, and now has offices situated at 1432 Stockton street. He has won a large clientele by the thoroughness
and skill of his dental work, and is generally considered one of the most capable men of the city in this field
of endeavor. He is a member of the San Francisco, the California State, and the American Dental Associations.
Dr. Grosso married Miss Norma Bacigalupi, a daughter of M. S. Bacigalupi and a native of San Francisco. Dr. and
Mrs. Grosso have become the parents of one daughter, Diana Roberta Grosso.
Dr. Grosso is a republican, and has been quite active in club and civic affairs. He was one of the organizers of
the Columbus Civic Club, and was its first and is also its present president. This important association of the
city was formed for the purpose of uniting all citizens and prospective citizens of San Francisco of Italian extraction,
and now has over one thousand members. The Doctor is also one of the organizers of the North Beach Property Association,
and is past president of the U. S. I. V. Sporting Club. He is past dictator of Lodge No. 26 of the Loyal Order
of Moose. Outdoor life has appealed to him most as his diversion from the long hours he gives to his profession.
He represents the best qualities of his race, and is loyal in every respect to his American citizenship.
