VIRGIL DAVID DARDI
Conspicuous among the younger citizens of San Francisco is Virgil David Dardi, member of the firm of Dardi, Reinhard
& Company, dealers in investments and securities with offices at 333 Montgomery street, also in Oakland, Sacramento
and Los Angeles, California, and in Portland, Oregon. He was born in Santa Barbara, California, February 3, 1904,
and is a son of Umberto and Mary (Bottini) Dardi, the former, now living in retirement, having been a prominent
figure in California banking circles.
In the acquirement of an education Virgil D. Dardi attended the grade and high schools and the Harvard Military
Academy, after which he spent an interval in Milan, Italy. Next he took up his more advanced studies at Stanford
University in Palo Alto, California, and received therefrom his Bachelor of Science degree in the year 1926. His
first business connection was with the Bank of Italy, after which he became associated with the Transamerica Corporation
as assistant secretary. Subsequently he was manager of the Intercoast Sales organization in the state of Oregon,
and then in November, 1930, his present partnership was formed in San Francisco. Within the comparatively short
time he has been active in the investment and securities business, Mr. Dardi has made extraordinary progress. With
a valuable training in banking and financial institutions among the largest in the world, he acquired much to assist
him in the intelligent and skillful conduct of the business in which he is now engaged.
On June 6, 1930, Mr. Dardi was married to Miss Elena Cavagnaro, a daughter of Joseph F. Cavagnaro, a biography
of whom appears elsewhere in this publication. Mr. and Mrs. Dardi have their residence in Oakland, California.
Mr. Dardi is a communicant of the Roman Catholic Church, and in politics has given his support to the republican
party. He belongs to the Native Sons of the Golden West, and to the Athens Club of Oakland. Golf is his favorite
sport.
