R. K. STEVENS, proprietor of the Palm and Citrus Nursery, in the west end of Montecito, makes a specialty of
palms (of which he has forty different varieties), and tropical fruit trees, many very delicate and sensitive,
but his locality is rarely visited by frost. Banana fruit ripens on the plants; orange, lemon, lime, and the olive
also do well. The ranch is well supplied by water, and of the 260 acres the greater part is under cultivation.
