LEON A. SEYMOUR.
Leon A. Seymour was not favored by inherited wealth or the assistance of influential friends, but by the exercise
of perseverance, industry and sterling integrity he has attained a comfortable station in life, being one of the
successful business men of Napa. He is a native of Susanville, Lassen county, California, and was born on the 10th
of September, 1886, a son of A. L. and Annie (Cooper) Seymour, the former a native of Michigan and the latter of
New York state. His father, after coming to California, was engaged in the cutting and shipping of timber in the
high Sierra mountains. Leon A. Seymour secured his education in the district schools of his native community and
then went to Reno, Nevada, where he learned the trade of a carpenter. He also was engaged in farming in that state,
but in 1924 he sold his land there and came to Napa, where he has since been engaged in general contracting and
repair work, including shingling, painting and paper hanging, in which he is an expert. He has gained a fine reputation
here for the high grade of his work and the promptness and dispatch with which he performs his tasks.
Mr. Seymour is a member of the Woodmen of the World. He was married to Miss Eleanor Meeker, who was born in Denver,
Colorado, and they are the parents of three children, Albert, Robert and William.
