ALBINO PELANDINI.
Among the foreign-born citizens who cast their lot with the people of Napa county and have won success through their industry and close application is Albino Pelandini, one of the faithful and efficient employes of the Sawyer Tanning Company and an upright and public-spirited citizen of Napa. A native of Switzerland, he was born on the 2d of February, 1866, and received his education in the public schools of that country. In 1884, when eighteen years of age, he came to the United States, coming direct to California His first employment was in a dairy in Margin county, and he soon afterward found similar employment in San Mateo county. He subsequently returned to Margin county for a short time and then came to Napa county, where for about five years he was employed in the McFarland dairy and later in the Grigsby dairy. He next went to Healdsburg, Sonoma county, where he was engaged in dairy work for a time, going from there to Afton, Humboldt county, where he was employed in a creamery. Mr. Pelandini then returned to Napa county and worked for a time in Owen Duff's dairy, this being followed by three years as a tanner in the Sawyer tannery. He next obtained a position in the Mare Island navy yard at Vallejo, where he remained about six years, after which he returned to Napa, and he has been connected with the Sawyer Tannery Company ever since. He is a steady and industrious man, giving intelligent direction to his work, and by thrift and economy has attained a comfortable financial position, owning stock in the company with which he is employed. He is a good citizen of his adopted country, giving his support to all measures for the public good, he is held in respect and esteem.

Mr. Pelandini is a member of the order of Druids and the Foresters of America. He was married to Miss Amelia Canevascini who was born at Cordelia, Solano county, and they became the parents of seven children, six of whom are living, namely: Agnes, the wife of J. F. Camp, of Napa; and Charles, Albert, Francis, Lucy and William.
