HAROLD H. PECK, D. D. S.
A list of St. Helena's honored and successful citizens would necessarily include the name of Dr. Harold H. Peck,
one of her leading dentists and public spirited citizens. Dr. Peck is a native son of California. He was born in
Petaluma, Sonoma county, on the 25th of August, 1894, and was there reared securing his elementary education in
the grammar and high schools of that city. Having decided upon dentistry as his life work, he entered the dental
department of the College of Physicians and Surgeons, in San Francisco, from which he was graduated in 1917 with
the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery. He then engaged in practice at Petaluma and remained there until 1920,
when he came to St. Helena, where he has continued to follow his profession. He is an able and skilled dentist
and has built up a large and lucrative practice here, being highly regarded by all who have had occasion to employ
Dr. Peck has a fine war record, having served for three years as a musician on naval transports, on which he made
nine round trips to France. He is a member of the American Legion and also holds membership in the Benevolent Protective
Order of Elks, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the St. Helena parlor, Native Sons of the Golden West.
Personally Dr. Peck possesses to a marked degree the qualities of character that render a man useful in his community,
being generous in his views, charitable in his attitude toward all benevolences and public spirited in his support
of all measures for the general good. He is sociable and easily makes friends, and during his five years of residence
in this locality he has attained an enviable place in the good opinion of the general public.
