F. C. LUNDY.
F. C. Lundy, an up to date farmer and business man of Napa county, is a native of Canada and was born on the 1st of November, 1863. His parents; Oliver and Mary (Haines) Lundy, were natives and lifelong residents of Canada, and both are deceased. He received a good public school education in his home neighborhood, graduating from the grammar school, and then devoted his attention closely to farming pursuits until he was twenty five years of age, when, in 1888, he came to Stockton, California, and obtained employment in the Harvester works, where he remained about two months. He then came to Napa but soon afterward bought a ranch in the Los Amigas district, formerly known as the Fly district, to the operation of which he devoted his attention until 1907, making many permanent and substantial improvements on the place. In that year he bought another ranch near Napa river, to which he moved, selling the first ranch, and here he lived until about 1912, when he leased the farm and moved into Napa city. He there opened a farmers' market, which he operated about seven years, or until 1919, when he disposed of the market and returned to the ranch, to the operation of which he has devoted himself closely to the present time. He is a systematic and methodical worker, giving earnest attention to every phase of his work, and he utilizes improved ideas as to the care of the soil and the handling of the crops, being accounted one of the best ranchers in this section of the county.

In 1892 Mr. Lundy was married to Miss Ella Bogart, who was born and reared near Toronto, Canada, her birth taking place in 1865. To them have been born five children, namely: Olive, who is the wife of Carl Douglas, a stone cutter in Napa; Florence, who lives at home and is a stenographer at the Mare Island navy yard; Ernest B., who lives in Napa and operates a fishing resort which he owns and which is located on his father's land; Kenneth R., who lives at home and is engaged in the poultry and dairy business; and Delia E., who is a student in high school. Ernest B. Lundy has made a distinctive success of the fishing resort referred to. It is beautifully located on the Napa river and consists of a number of summer cottages for rent, a store and boats, as well as plenty of vacant land to lease for summer homes. The water is well stocked with fish, and among sportsmen this is considered one of the finest bass fishing resorts on the Pacific coast. Mr. Lundy gives his personal attention to the resort, which has all the up to date accommodations that the cottagers and other summer tourists may require, and he is very popular among those who patronize the place, many coming year after year.

F. C. Lundy gives his political support to the republican party and has always cooperated with his fellow citizens in the promotion of all measures or enterprises for the betterment of the community welfare. He is a Protestant in his religious faith and is a member of the Ancient Order of Foresters. From 1908 to 1912 he served as a deputy assessor of Napa county. He is a man of kindly and generous disposition and has always enjoyed marked popularity throughout the locality where he lives.
