CLARENCE A. LOMMEL.
One of the best known of the younger attorneys of Napa county is. Clarence A. Lommel, of Napa, an honored native
son of California who has always tried to measure up to the standard of true manhood. This locality is proud to
number him among its progressive and representative men, for he has not only been energetic in his own professional
affairs but has stanchly supported every measure or movement for the advancement and prosperity of his community.
Mr. Lommel was born at San Rafael, California, on the 29th of October, 1900, and is a son of Otto Adrian and Leila
(Parsons) Lommel, the latter of whom was born in the east, being a direct descendant of the first governor of Virginia,
and came to California in her girlhood. Our subject's father came to California in 1873, locating first in San
Diego. Afterward he went farther north and engaged in the poultry business, in which he was successful. In 1917
he moved to Napa county, and he and his wife are now living on a ranch near Calistoga.
Clarence A. Lommel received his elementary education in the public schools and then entered Hitchcock Military
Academy, from which he was graduated. Having determined to devote his life to the legal profession, he entered
the law department of the University of California and was graduated with the class of 1922. He then opened an
office in San Francisco and practiced there until 1924, when he came to Napa, where he has since been actively
engaged in practice, having already met with a very gratifying measure of success. He is a fluent and forceful
speaker and an effectual pleader, while as a counselor he is considered safe and sound, enjoying the confidence
of the public as well as the respect and esteem of his professional colleagues.
Politically Mr. Lommel is a stanch supporter of the republican party and keeps in close touch with the leading
issues of the day. Fraternally he is a member of the Native Sons of the Golden West and the Grizzlies. Because
of his ability, genial disposition and genuine worth as a man, he is held in the highest regard by all who know
