RAYMOND E. ERRINGTON.
Raymond E. Errington, a well established paving contractor with headquarters at Napa, is one of the best known
men in his line in this section of California and has to his credit a record of admirable accomplishment. He was
born at Napa, September 29, 1887, and is a son of George E. and Jennie (Johnson) Errington, who are still living
in Napa, the latter having been a resident of this state since 1874. George E. Errington is a retired highway construction
contractor. He came to this state in 1869 and was for years actively engaged in road construction work, thus rendering
very material service in behalf of the general development of this region.
Reared at Napa, Raymond E. Errington received a high school education and early became connected with the highway
construction work carried on by his father, learning that business "from the ground up." In time he became
a paving contractor on his own account and has since been thus engaged, during this period having carried out some
of the most important contracts along that line executed in this section of the state, these including the Napa-Sonoma
cement highway and the highway connecting Solano and Napa counties. He has his own well equipped plant for crushing
the stone used in his construction work, and his outfit for grading and paving work is up-to-date in every respect.
He has a competent and well trained engineering staff and a force of skilled workmen in his employ and carries
out his contracts effectively and promptly.
Mr. Errington was united in marriage to Miss Ruby Wing, who also was born in California. She is a daughter of H.
W. Wing, veteran bridge builder, who constructed most of the bridges built in Napa county. Mr. and Mrs. Errington
are members of the local Golf and Country Club, and Mr. Errington is a member of the Napa parlor of the Native
Sons of the Golden West, also being affiliated with the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the Benevolent Protective
Order of Elks. In his political views he has ever been aligned with the republicans, and he takes a commendable
interest in local civic affairs.
