Michael Murray. Was born in county Cork, Ireland, September 29, 1829, and there resided until 1852, in which
year he emigrated to America, arriving in New York City March 31, 1852, where he followed the occupation of teamster
until 1856, on the 5th of March of which year he sailed for California via Panama, and arrived in San Francisco
on the 28th of the same month. On arrival he proceeded to the mines in El Dorado county, thence to Tuolumne county,
remaining in that vicinity until 1858, when he moved to Siskiyou county, and followed mining between Scott river
and Indian creek until 1862, when he went to Florence, Idaho Territory, where, save for five months which he spent
in Montana he resided until 1869. He was engaged in the liquor business for six years, and two years in the butchering
trade in Centreville, Idaho. In September, 1869, he returned to San Francisco, and in the following month came
to San Rafael, where, in April, 1870, he bought a livery stable, which occupation he still continues. Married,
November 13, 1870, Annie Nagle, a native of Ireland, by whom he has Michael, John F., Maria, Margaret and Ellen.
