BOLE, E. B. Was born in Morgan County, Ohio, June 12, 1825. When eleven years of age he, with his parents, moved
to Elkhart County, Indiana, where they followed farming. In 1852 the subject of this sketch crossed the plains
with ox teams to California, arriving at Placerville August 15th of the above year. The first three months after
his arrival were spent in mining, after which he settled on a farm on the Cosumnes River, in Sacramento County.
Here he farmed until February, 1858, when he came to Lake County and settled on his present place, consisting of
one hundred and sixty acres, located about two miles south from Kelseyville, in Big Valley, where he is engaged
in the nursery and fruit business. Mr. Bole married November 12, 1846, Miss Phcebe D. Corpe, by whom he had three
children, Emma A., Henry W. and Newton S., of which the two last named are dead. He married, secondly, August 22,
1858, Miss Mary J. Hammack, a native of Missouri. They have five living children: Albert G., Harriet A., Mary E.,
Frances A., and Martha 31, and have lost one, Willie.
