D. H. CLARIDGE, County Recorder and Clerk of the Board of Supervisors of Graham County, was born in Mt. Carmel,
Utah, in 1873. His parents, Samuel and Rebecca Hughes Claridge, still reside on the old homestead. Mr. Claridge
is a farmer and stock grower, and owns one of the finest ranches in the Gila Valley. He is serving his third term
as County Recorder, having been twice reelected on the record he made during his first term, when he introduced
a number of reforms into the recorder's office. He was educated in the public schools of Utah and Arizona. He was
united in marriage to Effie R. Nelson, and to the union have been born six girls and three boys. Mrs. Claridge
is an enthusiastic suffragist and has acted as deputy in her husband's office during his term of service. He and
Mrs. Claridge are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and Mr. Claridge served as Bishop
of the Bruce ward for seven years, and for many years has been one of the High Council of the State.
