LEWIS A. BURTCH, M. D., of Clifton, was born in Morrison, Illinois, June 16, 1875, his parents, J. M. and Phoebe
Wood Burtch, having settled there many years ago. Dr. Burtch was educated in the public schools and after his graduation
from high school, took a business course. Subsequently he entered Rush Medical College, Chicago, from which he
was graduated in 1897, then devoting considerable time to dispensary and clinic work, he secured a most thorough
and practical experience in dealing with the variety of work afforded in the hospital of a large city. In October,
1897, he came to Clifton, opened an office, and in his practice has been successful from the beginning, and has
built up an extensive practice. Politically, Dr. Burtch is a Democrat. He is a member of the Blue Lodge Masons,
Knights of Pythias, Spanish-American Alliance, A. O. U. W., and B. P. O. E., of which he is Past Exalted Ruler.
Dr. Burtch married Miss Margaret E. Stark, of Benton Harbor, Michigan.
